Vaccination Requirements
At Michigander Kennels, we treat every guest like family. To ensure a safe, healthy environment for all pups in our care, we requires current proof of core vaccinations from a licensed veterenarian. This peace of mind allows our guests to focus on what matters most: play, rest, and comfort.
- Required Vaccines: Rabies, Distemper/Parvo combo, and Bordetella.
- Administered at least 48 hours prior to arrival and current for the full stay.
- Proof of records needed from your vet via email or a physical copy at check-in.
- Strongly Recommend: Year-round flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
Boarding Drop-off & Pick-up Procedures
Arrival & Departure By Appointment Only
To ensure every boarding client receives our full attention, we offer specific appointments for boarding drop-offs and pick-ups.
Our standard hours are 7:00 – 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. We schedule 15 minute appointments within these windows.

- Food: Pre-portioned in sealed bags.
- Medications: Original packaging with clear labels. Must have pill pockets to administer meds. No exceptions.
- Home Comforts: Toys that don't absorb moisture. Think hard, rubbery or plastic. No bedding, blankets, or towels. All dogs will have a Kuranda bed in their kennel.
- Safety: A secure leash and collar for transitions.
- You are welcome to add an "Exit bath" to your stay for $20. Please let our staff know if you'd like your dog bathed at drop-off.

The Check-In Process & Pricing
When you arrive at Michigander Kennels, we’ll perform a quick wellness check and chat about any behavior notes or quirks. We’ll also confirm your emergency contact information, medicine needs and feeding details so you can head off with peace of mind knowing your pet is in safe, caring hands.
Payment is accepted at time of pick-up. Payment is accepted as cash or check, no cards please. Single dog boards are $30 a day, a second dog sharing the same kennel space is $19.
You are charged for each day your dog is at the kennel, unless you pick up during our morning window (7-10AM). If picking up your dog during this window, you will NOT be charged for that day.
Boarding & Behavior Requirements
- Group Play & Behavior: At Michigander Kennels, we value safe socialization. All dogs joining group activities must demonstrate non-aggressive behavior toward other pets and our staff. We perform a gentle behavior assessment at check-in to ensure a harmonious environment for all our guests.
- Male guests must be neutered.
- Feeding & Medications: To maintain your dog's digestive health, please provide their regular food in a sealed bags pre-portioned. We are happy to administer any necessary medications or supplements according to your written instructions at no extra cost, but do require pill pockets provided by you.
- Wellness & Illness Protocol: Should your pet show signs of illness during their stay, we will contact you or your emergency contact immediately.
